If you elect to use Ultraviolet Disinfection the water needs to be pre-treated so that it is virtually free of hardness minerals, iron, manganese, and other contaminants that can impede the UV Transmission. In many cases this is simply impractical due to the high initial cost. The Hallett UV Pure 500 and 750 provide a 316 Stainless Steel and anodized aluminum body with built in wipers for the two quartz sleeves, as well as a built-in purge vale to dump excess contaminants removed by the wipers, so as to require no pre-treatment.
Additionally, unlike any other UV on the market today, it utilizes Crossfire Technology®. This makes a world of difference.
